Among the Gambians who came to welcome him, was the Vice-President Fatoumata Jallow Tambajang. His arrival was secured by the ECOWAS Forces, comprising Senegalese and Nigerian soldiers heavily armed for this occasion.
A triumphal reception was reserved for him
